Klickitat County Sheriff: Bob Songer

Updated: Jul 8, 2023

As American citizens, we expect those in the role of Sheriff to uphold the law, pursue justice, and ensure the safety and protection of their communities. However, in the case of Hannah Walker, a young woman whose suspicious death in Washington State remains shrouded in mystery, the lack of action by the so-called “Constitutional Sheriff” has raised serious concerns.

Hannah Walker’s life came to a tragic end near Trout Lake, Washington under circumstances that can only be described as disturbing. Her untimely death marks the seventh case of a young woman under the age of 40 whose remains were found in rural areas within a 100 mile radius near Portland, OR. Yet, her story remains a mystery, buried beneath the silence of those responsible for upholding the law.

In the puzzling case surrounding the suspicious death of Hannah Walker in Washington State, the actions of the Klickitat County Sheriff's Office have come under scrutiny, revealing a troubling pattern of neglect and mishandling of crucial information. As the details of the investigation unfold, it becomes evident that the Sheriff’s office failed in their duty to promptly inform the family of Hannah’s death. They denied them the ability to identify her body until after the autopsy, (which took two weeks), denied them access to Hannah’s belongings and provided misleading information about the autopsy report.

It was Hannah’s mother who initiated contact with the authorities, requesting a welfare check after three days of trying to reach Hannah unsuccessfully. Shockingly, despite the urgent nature of the situation and being provided with Hannah’s mother’s contact information, it was only after her call 3 days later that police arrived at her door to tell her Hannah was dead. The family was told that because it was a suspicious death, they would not be allowed to identify the body until the autopsy had been performed.

When Hannah's mother requested the autopsy report, she was informed that the sheriff's office was still awaiting lab results. However, it later came to light that the lab results had been available for months prior. Those lab reports held critical details such as unknown individual DNA under both sets of fingernails, and semen found on the vaginal canal.

The family has not yet received any of Hannah’s belongings. At the crime scene, items were discovered and held as evidence, however, items acknowledged in the authorities reports are not accounted for. Other personal belongings which were not at the crime scene were identified and authorities reached out to Hannah’s mother who told them to hold them at the Sheriff’s office so she could make arrangements to pick them up. She was never able to access those items and the authorities are not responsive to her request for them. This denial of access to Hannah’s personal belongings has hindered the families ability to understand the circumstances surrounding Hannah’s death and has caused them concern over the safekeeping of crucial evidence.

The tragic death of Hannah Walker serves as a stark reminder of the need for compassion, professionalism, and thoroughness in law enforcement. We must hold those responsible for Hannah's death and the subsequent mishandling of the investigation accountable for their actions. The grieving family deserves answers, closure, and the assurance that their loved one's case will be handled with the utmost care and diligence.

We are asking that the community rallies together to support the family and demand justice. Let us advocate for a thorough, transparent, and unbiased investigation into Hannah Walker's death. Her story serves as a poignant reminder that the pursuit of justice should not be overshadowed by bureaucratic inefficiency or negligence. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that no family endures the pain and frustration of being denied timely information, access to personal belongings, or accurate reports.

Together, let us demand accountability and transparency. Let us seek the truth and demand justice to honor the memory of Hannah Rose Walker.
